Windows 10 Beginners Tutorial
Choose which folders appear on Start
Settings
Click on the Start button and the Settings button is two icons above it. Most of the Setting features are in this area. But if you prefer to see the Control Panel that we are use to seeing in previous versions of Windows, then right click on the Start button and choose Contral Panel.
Account Name
At the top of the Start Menu, you will see your account name. It defaults to the shadow account icon but when you click on the three horizon lines at the very top, it will expand the Start Menu and you will see your name next to the icon.
Right click on the account icon. You have the ability to lock your computer screen for security purposes. You will have to enter your password at this screen to gain access back to the desktop.
Click on Change Account Settings. Explore
Dynamic Tiles
To the right of the Start Menu, you will see a Windows 8 type Start Screen that houses dynamic Tiles. These Tiles represent Apps that are also located on the Start Menu. These dynamic Tiles are live and content on the tiles changes. These are also called Windows 10 Universal Apps. You will also notice that your mail, calendar, and Word for example will begin changing after set up you start using them. These tiles can be moved by dragging and dropping. Tile size can be changed by right clicking on any tile. There are four choices of sizes: small, medium, wide, and large. These are for Lenovo installed tiles. 3rd party tiles only have small and medium.
Also when right clicking, you can unpin from the Start Screen. If you want it back, you can find the Program in the Start Menu and pin it back. If you want to turn off the information in the live tile, you can Turn Live Tile Off. You can Pin to Taskbar or uninstall a program.
You can change the size of the Start Screen by holding the cursor on the edge and it turns into the double sided arrow.
Windows Universal Apps
Instead of going to a webpage to download a program and install it, we go to the Windows Store.

Internet Browser
This tablet is equipped with Microsoft Edge. Internet Explorer is gone. I have downloaded Goggle to mine.
Task View Button in Taskbar
You can save as many virtual desktops as you wish. Click the Task View Button and then the New Desktop button on the right. Place desired apps on the new desktop. Toggle back and fourth to each desktop by clicking on the Task View Button. You can close any of the desktops by hovering your mouse over it and clicking the X in the upper right corner. When you close a desktop, any open app on that desktop bounces over to the original desktop.
File Explorer
This is to browse and interact with your files.
Notification Area or System Tray
Can can take up to 4 screens and snap them to a grid so you can see all screens.

Notification Area or System Tray
- You can left click on the icon to open the notification for the app. Right clicking will open a menu with additional options. There will be an up arrow if you have too many icons to list in the System Tray.
- The Action Center is on the right of my clock. It houses updates, security, maintenance alerts as well as recent mail. At the bottom of that screen are are Quick Launch Icons, some open new windows and some turn on and off by touching them...they will turn blue.
