Let's Review the Basics

A template is a pre-designed layout that you can apply to a new page to provide a level of consistency and save time. OneNote 2016 comes with several built-in templates, including decorative page backgrounds and to-do lists. You can create your own template or customize an existing one.

When you're at a lecture, Q&A session, or interview and you know you won't be able to type notes fast enough, you can use OneNote to record audio or video notes.
If you take notes during the recording, they'll be linked to the audio and video created with OneNote. This way you can search your notes and find specific parts of the audio or video recording. |

Think of Quick Notes as the electronic equivalent of a little yellow sticky note. Unlike paper though, Quick Notes are instantly saved to your OneNote 2016 notebook so you can search and organize them. You can move Quick Notes anywhere on your screen and leave them there for as long as you need to refer to them. When you’re done with a Quick Note, close its window.

Need to move a page or a section? Just right click on a page or section and select Move or Copy. Next, select the notebook and section to move or copy and click Ok.

Have you ever noticed that you have a "Send to OneNote" option in your Print Window?

If you highlight a paragraph of text, image, or anything else really you can right click on it and choose to copy link to paragraph. You can then paste that link anywhere in OneNote. When you click on the link it will take you to that exact text, document or whatever. You will want to edit the name of the link though. Remember it works on the Desktop Version only.
Once you have the OneNote App installed to your phone. Connect to one of your Notebooks. Select a section and a page in your Notebook and place a cursor on the page to bring up your formatting options:
